I've always admired Yvan Rodic's work on the out of this world blog Face Hunter. I'm always chicken to say hi when I see him in Paris during the shows. How can you not be? However, it's part of my goal for this year to say hi and gush a bit when I do see him.
Yvan says that, "Fashion is a costume, style is an identity." I agree with him. Now, the internet is infusing local trends with an international tone. People are inspired by peers and stylish folks from around the globe. It used to be that trends appear on the runway and then trickle down into magazines and finally we see them posted on the window of Club Monaco. But now, fashion lovers are free to peak in and see what the cool kids in Brazil are wearing or how the Paris girls manage to look for good on their bikes.
That said, this is my inspiration for the summer, courtesy of the Face Hunter:

Be on the look out real soon for a post because I am hitting all of my favorite second-hand shop when I am in Boston next week in search of the perfect pair of pants to transform into these amazing wonders. I think I can do a pretty good job of making these. And I think he's sporting Dunlop Volleys on his feet. I wore them all the time when I lived in Sydney but a pain to get in the States.
